DevTogether is a Melbourne-based game developer peer support group for experienced indie developers and freelancers. The focus is balancing craft and creative innovation with the realities of running a small business.
Now in it's 4th year, it thrives as a group of generous developers helping lift each other towards success.
The group is facilitated by Alexander Swords and meets with the help of ACMI and the ACMI X Residency program.
If you're interested in being a part of the group there are some things to keep in mind. It works because of the tight focus on a particular group of developers and so exclusive by necessity. Ideally members are:
-
Based in Melbourne. Those in regional Victoria are very welcome, but currently online events are limited.
-
Experienced. At least 2 years working professionally in the industry.
-
At least some creative control over the project they're working on.
-
Able to offer experience or insight to the rest of the group.
There's also a cultural element that is harder to define, but just as important for the group to function.
As such, there is an application process and it may take a conversation or two to understand if it's a good match. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
During MIGW 2026 you are able to apply directly to the Discord Server using this link.
